CDBG Gap Fundraiser for Food Pantries
At the Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council, we have always been committed to serving our community by providing access to nutritious food, supporting local farmers, and promoting sustainable food systems. Today, we come to you with an urgent message about a funding gap that has emerged. We are launching a fundraising campaign to bridge this gap and ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential services to those in need. You can visit our fundraising page here.
The Funding Gap Over the years, the Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council has relied on various grants and donations to fund our operations. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, a significant grant that supports our work will not be available for 6 months, January 2024-July 2024, leaving us with a shortfall in our budget. This funding gap threatens our ability to maintain our programs, support local farmers, and address food insecurity in our community. Our Commitment to the Community Despite the financial challenges we face, we are determined to uphold our mission and remain a valuable resource for our community. The Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity, promoting sustainable agriculture, and fostering community resilience. We have worked tirelessly to expand our services of our Pacific Pantry, Food Bank, and Mobile Market, ensuring all DNATL families have access to the nutritious food they need and deserve. Bridging the Gap: Fundraising Campaign To overcome this funding gap, we are launching a fundraising campaign, and we need your support. Our goal is to raise $60,000 over the next five months to sustain our operations and continue providing vital services to those who depend on us. How You Can Help Donate: Your financial contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on our ability to serve the community. Spread the Word: Help us amplify our message by sharing our fundraising campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Utilize social media, email, or good old-fashioned word-of-mouth to spread awareness about the importance of our work and the urgent need for support. Volunteer: In addition to monetary donations, we greatly appreciate volunteers who can contribute their time and skills to support our programs. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our volunteer page. Participate in Upcoming Fundraising Events: We will be hosting a Harvest Festival on September 10 and an Empty Bowls dinner fundraiser this winter. We'd love to have you join us in celebration and solidarity. Join Us in Making a Difference Together, we can overcome this funding gap and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. By supporting the Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council, you are investing in a healthier, more resilient future for all. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on individuals and families who depend on our services, as well as the local farmers and businesses we support. |
