From Sea to Market's Mission
To establish a small-scale commercial fish filet facility
to keep locally-caught seafood in Del Norte County.
In partnership with Catch Together
DNATL CFC is working to bring a 40-ft fresh fish Filet Facility to the Crescent City area through Fresh Catch & NOAA grants. When fish is received, processed, and sold locally, fishermen and the local community benefit. Click here to learn more about Fresh Catch & NOAA. |
The Fish Filet Facility

About Fresh Catch & NOAA
How it started
In 2020, the organization Catch Together provided DNATL CFC with Covid relief funds through the Fresh Catch Grant to distribute locally-caught seafood to food-insecure families.
Within 2 years, 6,865 pounds of fish were purchased. This work with local fishermen uncovered a dire need for a processing space to enable small-scale fishermen to bring their catch directly to the local market.

How it's going
The DNATL CFC applied for the NOAA Saltonstall-Kennedy Grant to design and build the Filet Facility for the Crescent City Harbor, to fulfill Fishermen's needs for a local processing space.
The Family Resource Center of the Redwoods was awarded a Costal Conservancy Grant, which will support:
