Join us at Our Harvest Festival
  • Date and time: Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 12 - 4 PM.
  • Celebration of Local Food Month and community resilience.
  • Live music performances, local food, and family-friendly activities.


Food and Beverage Highlights
  • Delicious tacos made with local ingredients.
  • Local food and beverage sources, including Port of Pints and Seaquake breweries


Harvest Festival Celebrations
  • Lineup of local musicians, including the Redwood Ramblers and Morgan Schmit Acoustic.
  • Harvest Exchange for sharing produce.
  • Dessert Potluck and Mushroom Tye-Dyeing activities.
  • Roping Demonstrations and Raffle/Silent Auction.
  • Kids' activities like arts and crafts, face painting, and a scavenger hunt.


Eat Local Challenge 
  • September is Eat Local Month and we are challenging Del Norte to eat local and celebrate our local food. 
  • Promotion of the "Eat Local Challenge" for September.
  • Bingo Card included, how many ways can you eat local this month?

  • The Funding Gap The funding gap, lasting from January to July 2024, threatens programs and food security due to the absence of a significant grant.
  • Our Commitment to the Community Despite financial challenges, the Food Council remains committed to addressing food insecurity and supporting sustainable agriculture in the community.
  • Bridging the Gap: Fundraising Campaign A fundraising campaign with a $60,000 goal has been initiated to bridge the funding gap and sustain operations.
  • How You Can Help You can help by donating, spreading the word, volunteering, or participating in upcoming fundraising events like the Harvest Festival and Empty Bowls dinner.
  • Join Us in Making a Difference Supporting the Food Council ensures no one goes hungry and has a positive impact on individuals, families, farmers, and local businesses.

April / May

  • Super Successful Seed & Plant Exchange! 

  • Egg Certification and Food Safety Workshop May 18th at 5:30pm at the Crescent City Family Resource Center.

  • Climate Resilience Farmer Training Opportunity College of the Redwoods & North Coast Growers Association are teaming up to provide a paid certification program for beginning farmers!

  • The Food Forest is officially a pollinator haven! CR Students registered their garden with the North American Butterfly association and the Xerces Society.

  • Pacific Pantry served 1190 individuals in March.  

  • SAVE THE DATE: Strawberry Jam Workshop June 15th at the Family Resource Center of the Redwoods, 5:30 - 7 PM

  • Career Cultivation: We are collaborating with Educators to create opportunities that harness local talent & grow our local food economy.

  • Gardening Tips: It’s the perfect time to seed hardier crops such as broccoli, kale, lettuce & peas!

  • DNATL Community Seed & Plant Exchange: Sunday, April 16th Noon to 4 PM, at the Crescent City Family Resource Center of the Redwoods  
  • Beginning Farmer Survey Raffle Winners: Jennifer, Anna Boatsman, Virginia Roberts, Vanessa Burger. 

  • Upcoming Workshop May 18th:  Learn about the Egg Handler Certification process & requirements.

  • The Hmong Community Garden in Crescent City awarded $1000 for upgrades.

  • 3500+ lbs of Fresh Produce distributed so far this year by Choice Nutrition Pantry programs!

  • Gardening Season Kicks Off with Volunteer Valentine's Day Garden Party at Taa-'at-dvn Chee-ne' Tetlh-tvm'.

  • March 16th FREE Workshop: “How to Sell Your Local Food Products.”  Find out how to get started selling your produce at a farmers market, to the Pacific Pantry, or to our Harvest Box.

  • March 19th Wellness Week Community Lunch: Pacific North Fresh Mobile Market will visit the Del Norte campus of College of the Redwoods.  Students will be invited to participate in some garden therapy at Taa-'at-dvn Chee-ne' Tetlh-tvm' (Crescent City Food Forest).

  • April 16th Community Seed & Plant Exchange: Seeds, Starts, Raffles, Vendors, and Workshops for all ages & skill levels!
