School Gardens

Picture
School gardens are a great place for our children to learn about where food comes and the rewarding work required to grow it! Gardens can be a living laboratory for learning about biology and plant science, but also valuable life lessons regarding patience, persistence, and self-sufficiency.

Below, you will find the schools striving to create enlightening school gardens right here in DNATL! Each of the schools listed are utilizing the Community Food Council's school garden mini-grant funding ($500/yr) to grow their gardens. If you are interested in learning more about the Community Food Council's school garden mini-grant program, contact Brigette Norris at 707 464-0955 ext. 2109.
